Procrastination is defined as the action of delaying or postponing something. Olpin and Hesson (2013) defined it as the avoidance of doing a task that needs to be accomplished. Williams Webster Dictionary defined it as to put off intentionally the doing of something that should be done. It is the delaying of activities that need to be attended to or forgetting it in totality as a result of laziness or carelessness.

So many youths have lost some precious opportunities in life that would have place them better today because of their procrastinating attitudes. This has eaten into a number of them. Some of them are seriously sick of this silent killer which has germinated a lot of bad fruits in many of the world youths all over the globe. The important question you have to ask yourself is: "am I being eaten up by the disease of procrastination?". If the answer is yes, my friend you need to wake up from your slumber.
This is what Tim Pychyl, a psychologist at Carleton University in Canada, said about procrastination, "he says it is different from intentionally delaying doing something, and it is not a problem of time management, but a failure to control our emotions".

Sometimes you wanted to do something very important but you kept telling yourself that there was still time. When you realized that you were running out of time, your next alternative became running helter-skelter looking for shortcut. Sometimes you step on peoples toes because you were running around to meet up with time. In some cases, you make some series of mistakes because you were in a hurry.

Start making ways into that your projects on time so that you do not regret at the end.

If you as a youth know that your exam is fast approaching and you need to study on time before you can make it, what is the need for waiting three weeks before the exam day? Start on time to prepare for that.

You have the passion to learn a skill in computer programming, event planning, or electrical works, but the spirit of procrastination does not want to leave you to trace the part for the achievement of the dream on time. Do not allow that spirit to tie you down. Stand on your feet and take a bold steep in making your future brighter as a youth.

Procrastination is a dream killer. Because of this, do not in any way allow it to kill your dreams. If you are an author and you know that the book you are currently working on will educate the world and at the same time add good money into your bank account in future, you don't allow laziness to tie you down on your mattress. Procrastination will not pay you; rather it can kill that your dream. So, wake up and go and work. Do not say I will start to write on the topic tomorrow because tomorrow never ends.

Empower yourself as a youth and don't allow procrastinating kill important things that will help you achieve your dreams.
PEACE...
